Disclaimer: I wasn’t a fan of the Gundam SEED anime and it franchises; since I only watched it briefly it reminded me of Naruto’s manga where all epic battles always included Naruto shouting Sasuke’s name and Sasuke shouting back Naruto’s name! This is like KIRA!! ARTHRUN!! KIRA!! ARTHRUN!! KIRA!! ARTHRUN!!
If you get my drift, but I do like the Mobile Suits design apart from the Ginn and Zaku Warrior. That said, let’s start the blog.

The ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam is a mobile suit that appears in the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny anime. The unit is piloted by Kira Yamato.
ZAFT created a series of advanced mobile suits based on technology reverse-engineered from the captured Earth Alliance G Project suits. One of these suits is the Freedom, which is the second suit of the ZGMF-X series and can be considered the companion unit of the ZGMF-X09A Justice Gundam or the next improved ZGMF-X19A Infinite Justice Gundam.

The ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam has full flight capabilities in the atmosphere and the back-mounted wings can be deployed in “High Mobility Aerial Tactics (HiMAT) Mode” to enhance its mobility in the atmosphere or in space.

It also has an advanced targeting system, the Multi Lock-On System, which allows it to target and fire at multiple enemy units simultaneously. Due to its capabilities and loadout, the suit has a reputation as a specialized ‘Mobile Suit Killer’, but its high performance resulted in a complicated control system that demands extremely fast reaction speed and spatial awareness from Kira. See below side by side comparision to my other Gundam SEED mobile suits, Strike Rouge Gundam, Stargazer, Dagger L and Windam.

This High Grade Cosmic Era (HGCE) ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam (Revive Version) is a 1/144 scale kit released in 2014 at a retail price of ¥1,800. Which is considered relatively cheap when compared to HGCE ZGMF-X19A Infinite Justice Gundam at ¥2,200.

The kit is about 7 years old upon my writing, but has fairly good parts separation for HG class. I am able to paint most of the parts separately and in different colours so if I choose. Masking is also straight forward since most to the parts where colour separation are required are already separated.

TIP JAR!
If you are inspired by my projects, please consider supporting me by tipping me. A small amount from you means a large step for me. The tips will be used to help me to fund this blog and additional tools and paints to keep this site going. Thank you in advance and much appreciated!

I am interested in this kit because Bandai has constructed the first life-size Gundam outside of Japan in Shanghai! Standing at 18.0 meters tall, physically it does sort of standout but that is not the only item but (in) the name of “Freedom Gundam” is sort of an irony to be proudly displayed in China.

Hence, I thought I might as well add to the sucker punch by painting my Freedom Gundam in the traditional colours of Freedom “Red, White and Blue”

Side by side comparison of my RX-78-2 Gundam Origin [G3 Custom].
