The WMS-03 Maganac is a mobile suit featured in Mobile Suit Gundam Wing.

Despite the OZ and United Earth Sphere Alliance’s powerful influence and military strength, some pockets of people in the Earth Sphere continued to resist them. One of these groups was the Maganac Corps, a band of freedom fighters operating primarily out of the Middle East who had built their own mobile suit, the WMS-03 Maganac.
The WMS-03 Maganac was a mobile suit developed primarily to counter OZ and the United Earth Sphere Alliance. Since the WMS-03 Maganac was intended for operations in the desert; hence the Maganac was given high dust-proof capabilities and mobility.

Despite being mobile suits with specifications close for ground and desert use, they have high versatility and their performance surpassed the OZ-06MS Leo; which is considered surprising as the Leo is developed based on the Tallgeese. See above for my Leo and Leo NPD (customised to look like a Tallgeese).

The Maganac was also developed to be operated in cooperation with the XXXG-01SR Gundam Sandrock. Almost all of the 40 units were individually customized to have different abilities and traits such as enhanced melee combat capabilities and communication functions depending on their pilots’ skills and roles.

During the Operation Meteor in A.C.195, all 40 Maganac units fought alongside the Gundam Sandrock on Earth and in Space, and all of them survived.

The High Grade WMS-03 Maganac is a Bandai 1/144 scale kit released in Apr 2019. It is relatively new kit and the kits from origin storyline are produced using new moulding; it doesn’t uses polycaps but a new Bandai “Fine Build” system, but basically it still have ball joints using the polycap materials.

This has been on my wish list for a long time. When Gundam Wing first aired, I wasn’t really interested in any of the Gundam variants until I saw the Leo and Maganac!
For a recent released HG kit, the Maganac have improved articulation such as the head can swivel/pivot on a ball-and-socket/hinge joint; Torso can tilt sideways/back and forth; the arms are connected by a ball-and-socket joint, allowing it to swivel; the shoulder joints can swing forward for frontwards articulation etc. Below is a side-by-side comparison to my Gundam Sandrock, Heavyarms and Wing Fenice (customised to look like a Wing Zero)

The retail price for this kit is about ¥1,320 which is considered cheap especially the recently released grunt mobile suit HG Dagger L is retailed similarly at ¥1,320 which has lesser parts separation. Below is my side-byside comparison to my Origin RX-78-2 Gundam for scale.

Parts separation for a HG kit is considered fantastic as well, most of the orange panels are moulded separately hence I am able to painted them with the use of masking.
