Bandai 1/144 HG PMX-003 The-O

The PMX-003 ‘The-O’ is a mobile suit first featured ‘Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam’. It is piloted by Paptimus Scirocco.

Paptimus Scirocco was originally a member of the Federation’s Jupiter Energy Fleet, he is often known as “The Man from Jupiter.” Scirocco is an intelligent and charismatic man and is known to bring people to his side of his perspective.

Scirocco is considered a genius by both the AEUG and the Titans. He is also a gifted mobile suit designer, who had built both the PMX-000 Messala and his own personal unit the PMX-003 The-O, as well as assisted in the development of several other mobile suits.

PMX-003 was finally destroyed and Scirocco killed when Kamille piloting the Zeta Gundam smashing the Zeta into the cockpit of ‘The-O’.

That said, my ‘The-O’ project is titled ‘OMecha’ or ‘O-mega’ which means the last, the end. That is symbolically the last variant of ‘The-O’.

My inspiration for this project backstory is that the Titians savaged this mobile suit after the battle between Kamille and Scirocco.

Not only they have savaged PMX-003, but with their involvement in ‘Stardust Memoires’ they have also savaged the remains of RX-78GP02A Gundam “Physalis”.

Originally this project started because I was hoping to submit this kit to ZakuAurelius ‘Advance of Zeta Contest’ in May 2023. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish in time and or honestly I did not even get it started until Jul 2023.   

The contest was to kit-bash a Gunpla kit such that it represent the crazy expereimental Mobile Suits that befits the storyline of ‘Advance of Zeta’.

Thus, in my backstory, the Titians experimented and combining both designs into a Mobile Suit by giving it 6 arms and extra thrusters from GP02 to make the already manoeuvrable ‘The-O’ much faster and sinisterly deadlier.

This is a side-by-side comparison to the Lightning Z Gundam. Although this is not the Zeta Gundam that crashed into ‘The-O’, this is my closet version I have in my collection.

The other kit I have that is within this era will be the RX-121-2 Gundam TR-1 [Hazel 2].

Bandai released this kit in 2002, and I bought this kit from my mate Ching To for £32.99 which includes postage; in terms of buying Bandai model kits from UK I will say it is very competitive especially when you consider shipping from overseas and this is a very rare kit.  I also do not reside in a major city in the UK; hence buying a Bandai model kit from High Street comic shops is relatively difficult unless I am travelling for work.

Ching To operates mainly from a Facebook group where he is able to source ‘Gunpla’ and other overseas model kits, this works for me as I only buy kits which I am interested and if they are available.
